DIED.

FAWCETT--Sept. 4, 1879, near Beckwith, Iowa, of Congestion, Ella, daughter of Levi and Valumni FAWCETT, aged 17 years, 9 months and 23 days.

Loving, pure, tender and true, in life's morning Ella has passed away. The home made beautiful by loving hands, for her in-dwelling, is indeed made desolate; for she who was ever its life and its light has left it for her new come on high. But around its mourning altar her spirit will linger; and in the solemn night, or in noon-day glare, her eyese will ever be upon the dear ones left behind, as she waits for their coming on the other shore.

Were it not for heart-ties riven,
For the friends that come no more,
There would be no hope of heaven,
In the bright forevermore.

E. M. C.
