MISS FAULKNER DIES IN AFTON
Funeral Services Will Be Held Here Tomorrow At Hoskins'

Miss Minnie B. FAULKNER 80 died at 3:00 this morning in Afton, Ia. The funeral services will be held at the Hoskins Funeral home tomorrow afternoon at 2:00 o'clock.

Miss FAULKNER formerly lived in Fairfield and is quite well known here. Miss Lolla FILLEY is in Fairfield for the funeral services for Miss FAULKNER, who is her aunt.

SERVICES FOR MISS FAULKNER
Well Known Fairfield Woman Buried Here Yesterday

Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon for Miss Mary FAULKNER at the Hoskins Funeral Home here. The services were in charge of Rev. Clare H. Boos, pastor of the Methodist church at Afton, in which town she passed away. Rev. Boos was assisted by Dr. U. S. Smith of the Fairfield First Methodist church.

Mr. (sic - Mrs.) C. M. Graham sang "The Old Rugged Cross," "Face to Face," and "No Night There." She was accompanied by Mrs. E. G. Linder. Burial was in the Evergreen cemetery here.

Miss Mary FAULKNER, generally called Aunt Minnie, was born on a farm near where Packwood is now, on Feb. 25, 1853. She departed this life April 4, 1933, at the age of 80 years, 1 month 10 days at the home of her nephew at Afton, Iowa (note: in Union Co., IA).

She was the youngest of eight children of David B. and Eliza E. FAULKNER of which she was the last to depart this life.

When a small child she came to Fairfield to make her home with her sister, Mrs. Homer FILLEY. She attended the Franklin school which after finishing she taught in Henry county, also No. 6 school north of town.

In 1874 she went to Indianapolis to her sister Mrs. N. H. FILLEY. She returned to Iowa in 1882 and has resided in Fairfield until last November, when she went to Afton to reside with her nephew, Dr. John E. PAYNE.

She was raised a Quaker, but upon coming to Fairfield united with the Methodist church under Dr. Stafford, of which she was a member unto her death. She lived a quiet, conscientious and Christian life.

She is survived by the following relatives: Nieces, Lolla FILLEY (who cared for her) and Mrs. Carrie SCHROEDER of Chicago. Nephews, W. H. FAULKNER and A. E. FAULKNER of Fairfield, Ia.; David FAULKNER of Los Angeles, Charles FAULKNER of San Francisco, Dr. John E. PAYNE of Afton, Ia., and Logan PAYNE of San Diego and a host of friends.
