MRS. EVA FARRIS (sic - FARISS, throughout) DIED LAST NIGHT

Mrs. Eva FARRIS died last night at 11 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. James WILSON on South Second street afer an illness of about nine weeks of rheumatism and a complication of diseases. Mrs. FARRIS was probably one of the best known women in Fairfield and her death will be sincerely regretted by many friends.

Eva C. POSTELWAITE-FARRIS (sic - POSTLEWAIT-FARISS) was born in Ohio April 14, 1857 (sic - 1858), and there she received her early education. In young womanhood she moved with her parents to a farm near Rome, Iowa, where she resided until her marriage to T. E. FARRIS which occurred in Mt. Pleasant about thirty three years ago(.) Mr. and Mrs. FARRIS made their home in Lockridge for about three years after which they moved to Fairfield.

Four children were born to Mr. and Mrs. FARRIS, the older son Elmer, dying in early childhood. Mr. FARRIS and two daughters, Mrs. Ed MONTGOMERY and Mrs. James WILSON of this city and one son, Bert of Richmond, California, survive. Mrs. FARRIS also leaves her aged mother, Mrs. Emma POSTELWAITE (sic) of Avoca, Iowa, and one brother, T. E. POSTELWAITE of Kansas City, Mo.

Mrs. FARRIS was born and reared in the faith of the Catholic church and had been a member of St. Mary's church since coming to this city. During her last illness her faith and prayers have been a source of consolation to her children and friends.

The funeral services will be held Monday morning at 9:30 o'clock at St. Mary Catholic church. Rev. H. J. Hogan will have charge of the services. The interment will be made in Evergreen cemetery.
