Services To Be Held At Lutheran Church Sunday, 2:30 p.m.Mrs. Ellen ENGSTRAND, 65, wife of John W. ENGSTRAND, passed away late Thursday afternoon at the Jefferson county hospital, following a serious illness of four months' duration.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the First Lutheran church, in charge of Rev. W. F. Rex. Interment will be in Evergreen cemetery. The body will remain at the Hoskins Funeral parlors until time for the services.
Mrs. ENGSTRAND was born in Varna, Ill., on Nov. 26, 1871. She moved from Varna to Jefferson county 42 years ago, and has been a resident of this county since that time. Her home has been 5 miles northeast of Fairfield.
Surviving her are her husband, two children, Mrs. Hattie BATES and Harry ENGSTRAND, and two grandchildren, Mrs. George LEE and Bobbie ENGSTRAND.

ELLEN SWANSON ENGSTRAND
Ellen SWANSON ENGSTRAND was the daughter of Mr. nd (sic) Mrs. Peter A. SWANSON, born, Nov. 26, 1871 in Varna, Ill. She was baptised in infancy and confirmed in youth as a member of the Lutheran Church.
On Dec. 21, 1892 she was united in marriage with Mr. John ENGSTRAND. To this union was born two children, Mrs. Hattie BATES and Harry ENGSTRAND. She had three brothers and two sisters--who preceded her in death. Since 1895 she has been a resident of Iowa. For some time she was a member of the Swedish Lutheran Church, Salina, later of the Sweedish (sic) Lutheran Church of Fairfield--and for the last few years a member of this church.
She leaves to mourn her going, her husband, her two children, and two grandchildren, Mrs. Edna LEE, and Master Bobbie ENGSTRAND.
She answered the call of her Lord unto Himself, Thursday afternoon, May 6, 1937, age 65 years, 5 months and 10 days. She was buried May 9, 1937 in Fairfield, Iowa.
The pallbearers were John Barwise, Charles Lesher, Cecil Johnson, Gust Schilllerstrom, Anton Carlson and Frank Kettman. Paul Coleson sang "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" and "Under His Wing."
