Death came last night about 9:00 p.m. to Mrs. Margaret EMRY, 88, a native of Fairfield. She passed away at the McCleary nursing home where she had been a patient for the past week.
Last rites will be Monday at 3:00 p.m. at the Hoskins funeral home with Dr. L. L. Weis in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
Margaret S. EMRY was born August 24, 1861, in Fairfield. She was the daughter of the late John W. and Mary FOX SCHAFER, early residents of this community. She was united in marriage on February 1, 1887, to Thomas J. EMRY who preceded his wife in death several years ago.
For a number of years the family lived near Pleasant Plain before moving to Fairfield. After the death of her husband Mrs. EMRY made her home with her daughters in Washington, D. C.
Mrs. EMRY and her daughter, Elizabeth, returned to Fairfield a few years ago and have made their home here since. Mrs. EMRY suffered a hip fracture in 1947 and she had been cared for by her daughter until she became ill some time ago. The daughter, Elizabeth, is a patient in the Jefferson county hospital.
Besides the one daughter, Mrs. EMRY is survived by two sisters, four half-brothers and sisters, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband and a daughter, Lake EMRY.
