Hugh EMRY, 76, Taken In Death

Hugh EMRY, life-time resident of Jefferson county, died at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Jefferson county hospital. He had been in failing health the past three months and seriously ill the past two weeks.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Raymond funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery with Masonic grave services.

Hugh EMRY, 76, was born June 15, 1886, on a farm about nine miles north of Fairfield. He was the son of Eli and Artiemisha DUKE EMRY. He was reared, educated in Jefferson county and married March 26, 1911, at Fairfield to Elizabeth KNIGHT.

He was a farmer all his life, a member of the Pleasant Grove Methodist churhc, and a member of the Masonic lodge.

EMRY is survived by his wife and four daughters; Leighfern BUCKLES, Kansas City, Kan.; Mildred GOODNAUGH, Kalamazoo, Mich.; Velma BANGS, Leawood, Kan.; and Arlene PAYNE, Davenport.

Other survivors include 10 grandchildren, two brothers, Harlan of Moline and Otto of Richland; three sisters, Mrs. Howard INGHRAM, Wichita, Kan.; Mrs. Arthur CLEAVENGER, Ollie, Iowa; and Mrs. Jack BUCKLES, Mission, Kan.

He was preceded in death by her (sic - his) parents and four brothers.

Notice Is Hereby Given, that the undersigned has been duly appointed and qualified as Executrix of the estate of Hugh EMRY, deceased, late of Jefferson County. All persons indebted to said estate are requested to make immdiate payment, and those having claims against the same will present them within legal time, duly authenticated, to the undersigned, for allowance and file in the office of the Clerk of the District Court.
