POPULAR BUS DRIVER DIES
Walter A. ELDER'S Record As Taxi Operator Ended This Morning

Walter A. ELDER, born April 7, 1860, died this morning at three a.m. at his home at 404 W. Adams. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:00 o'clock at the Hoskins Funeral Home, Rev. Williamson will conduct the service. Burial will be made at the Evergreen cemetery.

Mr. ELDER has been in failing health for the last two years and seriously ill for the past seven weeks. He will be best known here as the operator of the bus and taxi line which he has owned for the last twenty years. He has been a resident of Fairfield for twenty years, moving here from Hedrick.

Mr. ELDER is survived by his wife; seven children, Fred ELDER of Fairfield, Ed T. ELDER, Hedrick; Mrs. Shugh (sic - Hugh) JONES, Packwood; Will H. ELDER, Libertyville; George A. ELDER, Burlington; Mrs. B. F. DONAHUE, Mrs. Clem ARMSTRONG and Mary ELDER, all of Fairfield. One daughter, Dollie, preceeded (sic) him in death on Oct. 19, 1917. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren; and one brother Newton ELDER of Saskatchewan, Canada.

... Mrs. Hugh JONES' father, W. A. ELDER, of Fairfield passed away Friday morning at his home. Mrs. JONES has been with him for the past week, helping care for him. The JONES family including Mr. and Mrs. JONES, daughters Marion and Ruth and son Don attended the funeral servics Sunday afternoon at Hoskins Funeral Home. ...
