Death of Charley X. EASTON.

Charley X. EASTON, one of the pioneer French settlers of Jefferson county, died at his home in Salina Sunday morning. He was a native of France, born May 31st, 1839. He left his native country October 31st, 1856, came to Jefferson county March 3d, 1859, and his residence here has been continuous since that time. He was married to Julia KELLER, a member of one of the early French families of the county, September 3d, 1861. They were the parents of three children, two of whom are living--Louis EASTON of this city and Mrs. William BUSH. Mr. EASTON was a man of industrious habits and of excellent character, and had many friends in this county, where the larger part of his life was spent. There are many old friends here who will regret his death and will sympathize with the stricken wife and family. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. H. J. Hogan, were held at St. Mary's church, this city, yesterday morning at 11 o'clock.
