FORMER FAIRFIELD RESIDENT PASSED AWAY YESTERDAY

John DUNLAVY, well known Fairfield resident, passed away at his home in York, Nebr., yesterday.

Mr. DUNLAVY lived in this city until about two years ago when he moved to Nebraska and has made his home with his sister Mrs. Belle RUSSELL since that time.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon.

FUNERAL OF JOHN DUNLAVY WAS HELD THIS AFTERNOON

John M. DUNLAVY, the son of Alexander and Catherine DUNLAVY, was born at Glasgow, Jefferson county, Iowa, November 15, 1846, and died at the home of his sister, Mrs. Belle RUSSELL, corner of Tenth street and East Avenue, York, Nebraska, at 9:30 p.m., January 18, 1921. Deceased was aged seventy-four years, two months and three days.

He lived most of his life in Iowa near where he was born, except six years, spent in Illinois and the last five years with his sister, Mrs. Belle RUSSELL of York, Nebr.

He was the second of a family of six children, all of whom have preceded him except his sisters, Mrs. Belle RUSSELL and Mrs. Anna CHEZUM of York.

He was married in 1883 to Miss Frances MILLER, who died in 1905 (sic - 1907). There were no children to this union(.)

Mr. DUNLAVY was a man of sterling qualities. Although not a member of any church, he was in sympathy with Christianity and enjoyed associating with Christian people. He was a member of the Masonic order being a member of Clinton Lodge No 15, Fairfield, Iowa.

He was a man of deep convictions of what he considered to be right and just, of a quiet and unassuming disposition, always having a good word for his friends, and throughout his long life never made any enemies.

Funeral services were held this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Methodist church in charge of Dr. C. L. Tennant. The Masons had charge of the services at the grave. Interment was made in Evergreen cemetery.
