W. DUTTWEILER PASSES AWAY
Died This Morning At The Home of His Son Fred At Leavenworth, Kans.

William DUTTWEILER passed away this morning at the home of his son Fred, at Leavenworth, Kans., where he and his wife had gone to visit just before Christmas. He had been in delicate health but was not considered in any danger. The body will arrive here tomorrow accompanied by Mrs. William DUTTWEILER and Mr. and Mrs. Fred DUTTWEILER. Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 3 oclock from the English Lutheran church in charge of Rev. George G. Parker. Interment will be made in Evergreen cemetery.

Mr. DUTTWEILER was 77 years old and has been a resident of Pleasant Plain for the last 15 years. Besides his wife, he leaves the following children: Mrs. Guy DONOVAN of this city, Mrs. John WILLIAMS of Mt. Pleasant, Fred DUTTWEILER of Leavenworth, Kans., and Mrs. Raper DUTTWEILER of Brighton.

LAST RITES FOR W. DUTTWEILER
Held Yesterday Afternoon At 3:00 O'clock At Lutheran Church Here

Funeral services for William DUTTWEILER, who passed away Saturday at the home of his son Fred DUTTWEILER in Leavenworth, Kansas, where he was visiting, were held yesterday afternoon at 3 oclock from the Lutheran church here. Rev. George G. Parker conducted the services which were largely attended by many of his friends and neighbors.

Mrs. W. H. Neibert and Mrs. Glen Bates, accompanied by Mrs. Ed Meneely at the piano, sang, "One Sweetly Solemn Thought," "Nearer My God To Thee" and "Going Down the Valley." The pallbearers were former neighbors of the deceased from Pleasant Plain and were the following: Joel Hoskins, Frank Hoskins, Andrew Wolfe, Allen MACY, Jacob Sheetz and Fred Wiggins. Burial took place in Evergreen cemtery.

Pleasant, Mr. and Mrs. Raper DUTTWEILER and family of Brighton, and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hoskins, Mr. and Mrs. Joel Hoskins, Miss Marian Jones and Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Wolfe of Pleasant Plain were among those who attended the William DUTTWEILER funeral here yesterday afternoon. ...

...Mr. and Mrs. Fred DUTTWEILER and little son Deeise DeWitt will leave tonight for their home in Leavenworth, Kansas after accompanying the body of the former's father, William DUTTWEILER here for burial. ...

OBITUARY

WILLIAM DUTTWEILER

William Henry DUTTWEILER, eldest son of Louis and Sarah DUTTWEILER was born in Jefferson county near Germanville, Iowa, November 30, 1849, died January 8, 1927 at the home of his son in Leavenworth, Kansas, at the age of 77 years 1 month and 8 days.

Mr. DUTTWEILER was united in marriage to Sarah Elizabeth ALLRED, June 2, 1879 and resided on a farm near Merrimac until 1906 when they moved to Wayland, Iowa and operated a very successful hotel for two years, after which they came to Pleasant Plain and settled on a small fruit farm where they had remained until a few weeks ago when they decided to spend the winter with their children. They first made their home with the youngest daughter, Mrs. Lydia DONOVAN, Fairfield, then went to Leavenworth to the home of the son.

To this union was born five children, all of which survive, except one dying in infancy. Those left to mourn his loss beside the widow, three daughters, Mrs. Emma WILLIAMS, Mt. Pleasant, Mrs. Mary DUTTWEILER, Brighton, Mrs. Lydia DONOVAN, Fairfield, one son Henry Frederick, Leavenworth, Kansas, also one brother Louis of Lockridge and thirteen grand children and a host of friends.

He was confirmed in the Lutheran church at Germanville in his boyhood and had remained a member through his life. He was well liked by all who had the opportunity of knowing him, especially among his neighbors, as he was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Funeral services were held from English Lutheran church Fairfield with Rev. George G. Parker officiating. Interment in Evergreen cemetery.
