Mary DE WITT, wife of William DUNLAP, died in this city on Friday after an illness of two years or more. She had been confined to her room for perhaps six weeks past. Mrs. DUNLAP was born in Adams county, Ohio, December 9th, 1825, where she grew to womanhood and was married in 1844. A few years after their marriage the young people removed to Iowa, and until 1870 made their home in Marion, Mahaska and Henry counties. In December of the latter year they came to Salina, this county, where they resided on a farm until their removal to this city last spring. Nine children were born to them, all of whom are living except a daughter who died here within the past year and a son who died in infancy. At her old home near Salina, where Mrs. DUNLAP had spent twenty years of her useful life, she was held in the highest esteem, and she had formed many warm friendships since coming to this city. A wide circle of friends will sympathize with the bereaved husband and children in the affliction which has fallen upon them. Funeral services were held in this city on Sabbath, Rev. W. G. Thorn conducting them and the remains were interred in the Evergreen cemetery.
