OBITUARY.
Eva L. COX was born in Paris, Washington county, April 24th, 1868, and died in Fairfield June 4th, 1902, aged thirty-four years, one month and ten days. In infancy her parents moved to Fairfield, where she had resided most all of her life. She graduated from the High school of this city with the class of 1886, and afterwards attended the State normal. Her marriage to O. D. DUKE took place in Fairfield September 22d, 1891. She leaves two infant children to be cared for by her husband. About eight years ago Mrs. DUKE united with the Christian church. During this time she has not been a regular attendant of the church services, but never lost her interest in the cause of Christ and manifested an interest in her personal salvation and that of her family. A few hours before her death, with no warning of its approach, she spoke of her intention of attending chruch when she recovered, and of sending the children to Sunday school. She was a dutiful child, a kind sister, and an affectionate and faithful wife. Funeral ervices were held Thursday, June 5th, at the family residence in the southwestern part of the city, and were conducted by Rev. L. Mendenhall.
