... Miss Cyn hia (sic) Jane STONE, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. S. STONE was born near Merrimac, Jefferson Co., Iowa, Oct. 28th, 1881. With her parents she moved to Rome, Iowa in 1883, where she remained with her parents until 1894, when they moved to Fairfield, Iowa. she was united in marriage April 14th, 1903, to Charles Wilber DUKE. After being married 1 year, 1 month 3 weeks and 3 days she passed away June 7th, 1904, at 12:30 a.m. She leaves her mother, father, husband, four sisters and one brother to mourn her loss. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Baptist church, conducted by Rev. Miller. Interment was made in Evergreen cemetery.

Cynthia J. STONE was born near Merrimac, Jefferson County, October 28, 1881, grew to womanhood and was married a little more than a year ago to Chas. W. DUKE of this city. She died Tuesday, June 7th, after a short illness. Deceased was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. S. STONE, both of whom remain to unite with the sorrowing husband in lamenting the untimely death of their dear one. Funeral services were conducted last Wednesday afternoon by Rev. Miller, of the Baptist church and interment was in Evergreen cemetery.
