LIFE-LONG RESIDENT OF COUNTY DIES
Mrs. Joseph S. DROZ passed away at home of son this morning

Mrs. Joseph S. DROZ, 79, life-time resident of Jefferson county, passed away this morning about 1:40 o'clock at the home of her son, Gaston DROZ, who lives nine and a half miles southeast of Fairfield. Mrs. DROZ had been seriously ill for the past two weeks.

Funeral services will be held at the St. Mary's Catholic church Wednesday morning at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Fr. H. M. Thoman in charge. The Rosary will be recited at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Weston Behner funeral home. Burial will be in the Evergreen cemetery.

Mrs. Mary Emiley (sic) DROZ was born February 25, 1864 in Jefferson county. She was the daughter of the late Jacob and Elizabeth PRINCE. She was united in marriage to Joseph S. DROZ on January 8, 1891.

She is survived by one son, Gaston DROZ, and two grandchildren, Harold and Mary Lou DROZ. Her husband preceded her in death.

The body will lie in state at the Weston Behner funeral home and the casket will not be opened at the church.

OBITUARY

Mary Emelie PRINCE

Mary Emelie PRINCE was born near Lockridge, Iowa on February 25, 1864 and departed this life May 24, 1943 at the age of 79 years and 3 months. She lived her entire life in Jefferson county. She was the daughter of the late Jacob and Elizabeth PRINCE. She had been of Catholic faith since a child and active in church activities until her health made it impossible to attend. She was united in marriage on January 8, 1891 to Joseph S. DROZ, who preceded her in death on October 21, 1936. To this union was born one son, Gaston, who survives. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Harold and Mary Lou DROZ. She was also preceded in death by one brother, J. E. PRINCE, one half-brother, C. L. HOSETTE and one half-sister, Mrs. C. W. BAILEY.

The body was in charge of Behner and Davidson funeral directors.

Services were held at the St. Mary's Catholic church on May 26, 1943 in charge of Rev. F. H. Thoman. Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery.
