Life Time Resident Of County Passed Away At Cedar Township HomeMrs. Mary DROZ, wife of Alex A. DROZ, died at the family home in Cedar township this afternoon at 2 o'clock. She had been ailing for some time and seriously ill for two weeks.
She leaves besides the husband, three brothers, Robert L. McWHIRTER of Cedar township, William McWHIRTER of Fairfield and David McWHIRTER of Kansas.
Funeral services had not been made at press time.

Funeral services for Mrs. Alexander DROZ, who died yesterday afternoon at 2 oclock at the family home in Cedar township, will be held from the Hoskins funeral home tomorrow afternoon at 1:30 oclock. Services will be in charge of Dr. H. Sears Thomson and interment will be in Evergreen cemetery. Six nephews of Mrs. DROZ will be the pall bearers.
The body will be brought from the home to the funeral parlors this afternoon.

The last rites for Mrs. Alexander DROZ, who died Wednesday afternoon at her home in Cedar township, were held this afternoon at 1:30 o'clock from the Presbyterian church. Dr. H. Sears Thomson conducted the services. Six nephews acted as pall bearers. Interment took place in Evergreen cemetery.

Mrs. Mary McWHIRTER DROZ, who died at her home southeast of Fairfield on January 9, 1924, was one of the old and honored residents of this county. She was the daughter, born Nov. 30th, 1859 to Samuel and Martha McWHIRTER, good old Scotch-Irish stock who with numbers of their fellow countrymen came over to this land from Ireland and settled as farmers in the section of the county six and seven miles southeast of this city.
In this favored neighborhood Mary McWHIRTER grew up in a God fearing and fine old fashioned home, attending country school and the church of her fathers, the Cedar Chapel Presbyterian church. Of th esix (sic) children in that home wh ogrew (sic) to maturiry, only three lived to survive her. The are Dacid (sic - David) McWHIRTER of Dighton, Kansas; Robert McWHIRTER of this county and William McWHIRTER of this city.
On Sept. 17, 1901, she married Alexander DROZ of her neighborhood, and they continued to farm in the vicinity of the old homestead until the time of her death. Indeed Mrs. DROZ's entire life was spent in the same school district.
Among those who knew her and loved here and they were a host, she was marked for her christian ideals and her untiring and unselfish neighborly service. Her passing is an irreparable loss to a sorrowing husband, relatives and the community at large.
