... M. S. DOUGHERTY, who has been critically ill for sevearl (sic) weeks, died this morning about 9 o'clock.

Death of Milton S. DOUGHERTY.

Milton Simpson, son of the late Robert A. DOUGHERTY, died in this city January 2d, after a protracted illness. He was born in Cedar township, this county, July 17th, 1851, and the greater part of his life was spent here. He was married to Miss Jennie DUDLEY December 28th, 1877, and the wife died about nineteen years ago. There were two children by thism arriage, one of whom, Ethel, is now living here. Mr. DOUGHERTY was well known throughout Jefferson county, and there were many friends to sympathize with him in his affliction and regret his death. Funeral services were held at the residence of his brotherinlaw, W. A. WAWICK (sic - WARWICK), on east Burlington street, Thursday, where his mother also resides. Rev. J. F. Magill conducted the services.

Milton S. DOUGHERTY was born July 17, 1851 and died January 2nd, 1901, at 9 o'clock a.m. He was married, Dec. 28, 1877 to Jennie DUDLEY, who died about nineteen years ago. Two children were born to them, Ethel and Beulah. Beulah died at the age of one and a half years and Ethel has had a home with her aunt, Mrs. W. A. WARWICK, since her mother's death.

Deceased spent most of his early life on a farm in Cedar township. His illness had been of long standing but yet his death was a shock to friends and relatives.

The funeral services were held at W. A. WARWICK's residence, on East Burlington, January 3rd, 1901m, conducted by Rev. Dr. Magill.
