MRS. DIMMITT DIED SUNDAY
Funeral services at Christian church Tuesday, 10 a.m.

Mrs. Frank DIMMITT, 66 (sic - 63), Fairfield Gold Star Mother passed away at 2:30 a.m. Sunday at her home, 609 South Fourth street. She had been in failing health for the past three years, and had been bedfast since January 15.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the First Christian church, in charge of Rev. S. P. Williamson. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery. The body was taken from the Hoskins Funeral Home to the DIMMITT residence Sunday afternoon, and will be taken from there to the church.

Mrs. Nancy Frances DIMMITT was born August 1, 1874. She was a member of the First Christian church of this city, of the American Legion Auxiliary, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and the Daughters of Union Veterans.

As a member of the Gold Star Mothers club, Mrs. DIMMITT went with the delegation to France several years ago. There she visited the grave of her son, Clifford Earl DIMMITT, killed in France on September 13, 1918.

Mrs. DIMMITT is survived by her husband, Frank DIMMITT, and the following children, Clyde W. DIMMITT, Mrs. Ralph LYNN, Warren C. DIMMITT, Mrs. Robert ADAMS, Mrs. Theo. GIRE and Robert H. DIMMITT, all of this city, and Mrs. A. I. IPSAN of Cedar Rapids. Twenty-one grandchildren also survive.

Also surviving are two sisters; Mrs. Henrietta LaGRANGE of Ames, and Mrs. Walter GUNDER of Ligonier, Ind.; and three brothers, John W. BOALES (sic - BOALS) of Seattle, Wash., Thomas BOALES and Fred BOALES, both of Sebring, Fla.

... LEGION AUXILIARY MEMBERS MEET AT 9:45 A.M.

Mrs. Harlan Anderson, president of the Legion Auxiliary is requesting that all members of the organization meet tomorrow morning promptly at 9:45 at the east side of the First Christian church to attend the funeral of Mrs. Frank DIMMITT which is being held at the church at 10 a.m.

OBITUARY

MRS. FRANK DIMMITT

Nancy Frances BOALS DIMMITT, daughter of Jane and Daniel BOALS, second child in the family, was born in Hopedale, Ohio, August 1, 1876. She passed away at her home in Fairfield, Iowa, eary (sic) on Sunday morning, July 21, 1940, after an illness of six months.

Her father and mother died when she was quite young and left her with the care of five younger children.

When she was four years old the family moved to Fremont, Iowa, where she was reared and educated. There she met and married Mr. Frank DIMMITT.

To this union eight children were born. They are: Clifford, Clyde, Hazel, Warren, Christine, Edna, Gladys and Robert.

She is survived by her husband Frank DIMMITT, three sons, Clyde, Warren and Robert, all of Fairfield, Iowa, four daughters, Mrs. Ralph LYNN, Mrs. Robert ADAMS and Mrs. Theodore GIRE of Fairfield, Iowa, and Mrs. A. I. IPSAN of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; twenty-one grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Henrietta La GRANGE of Ames, Iowa, and Mrs. Walter GUNDER of Ligonier, Indiana; two brothers, Mr. John BOALS of Seattle, Washington, and Mr. Thomas BOALS of Sebring, Florida.

Mrs. DIMMITT was a member of the First Christian church, the Auxiliary of Allen Jewett Post number 47, American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and Daughters of Union Veterans.

She was a former member of George Strong Post, Women's Relief Corps, Women's Club and the Rowena Circle until poor health made it impossible for her to attend the meetings.

Mrs. DIMMITT was a Gold Star Mother; her eldest son, Clifford, was killed in action in France on Sept. 13, 1918, during the World War. The Dimmitt-Vorhies Post, Veterans of Foreign Wars, honored Clifford DIMMITT, in the use of his name as part of the post name.

Funeral services were held from the First Christian church Tuesday morning conducted by S. P. Williamson, minister of the church. Hymns were sung by Mrs. N. Switzer and Mrs. S. P. Williamson with Mrs. Esther Stever at the piano. Pallbearers were sons and sons-in-law. At the grave side the auxiliary of the V. F. W. read their ritual. The remains were interred in Evergreen Cemetery.

Auxiliary Names Committee Heads For Coming Year

About twenty-one members of the American Legion Auxiliary met last evening in the Woodman hall for their regular August business meeting. The session was called to order in the usual form after which the charter was draped in memory of Mrs. Frank DIMMITT who until her health failed was one of the Auxiliary's most faithful members. She also had been accorded the honor of making the pilgrimage to France as one of the Legion Gold Star Mothers. ...
