Robert DLOUHY rites Tuesday

Robert B. DLOUHY, 67, resident of Fairfield for over 30 years, died at 3:55 a.m. Sunday at the Ottumwa Hospital in Ottumwa where he had been a patient since Dec. 28 (note: in Wapello Co., IA). The family home is at 610 W. Fillmore.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Raymond Funeral Home. The Rev. Clair Odell will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Visitation will be this evening from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Heart Fund or Lung Association.

Robert B. DLOUHY was born March 27, 1916, in Johnson County. He was the son of Ben and Pauline VECHERKA DLOUHY and was reared in Johnson County.

He was married Feb. 9, 1943, to Bertie Lou KING at Owensberg, Ky. The family moved to Fairfield in 1953, and lived in Libertyville for 15 years from 1958 to 1973 at which time they moved back to Fairfield.

DLOUHY was employed at Louden Machinery Co for 24 years prior to his retirement in 1981. He served in the Army during World War II, he was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church in Libertyville, the Eagles Lodge (sic - Aerie/Club) and VFW.

Survivors inclulde his widow; three sons, Robert E., Atlanta, Ga.; Richard Allen, Fairfield; Gary Dean, Coffeyville, Kan.; three daughters, Dolores SPEES, Birmingham; Patricia DAVIS, Batavia; Penny BOATRIGHT, Omaha, Nebr.

Other survivors are nine grandchildren, three brothers, Ben and Milo DLOUHY, both of Coralville; and Edwin DLOUHY, Iowa City; two sisters, Elanor CORROR, Atascedero (sic - Atascadero), Calif,; and Blanche RAIM, Amana.

He was preceded by his parents and a brother.
