DEMATTEIS Rites

HEDRICK--Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Fremont Funeral Chapel for Zeal DEMATTEIS, 84, who died Friday at 6:15 p.m. at the Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield. Burial wil be in Competine Cemetery (note: in Wapello Co., IA).

DEMATTEIS Rites Held At Fremont

HEDRICK -- Last rites were held today for Zeal DEMATTEIS, 84, retired farmer living on rural route 1 near Hedrick. He died at 6:15 a.m. Friday at the Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield.

Services today were held in the Fremont Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Kermit Black in charge. Burial was in Competine Cemetery near Farson.

The son of Antonio and Eliza PRICE DEMATTEIS, he was born Aug. 2, 1885, in Bladensburg. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Grace FISHER, Ottumwa, and Mrs. Lois RAKE, Bakersfield, Calif.; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Leona SIMPSON, Keokuk.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Mae HUFF, May 9, 1951; also two sons, one sister and a brother.
