ASHES OF MRS. DEMING ARE INTERRED HERE.

Mrs. Darrie DEMING, a former resident of this city, died Tuesday evening in a hospital in Minneapolis, Minn,, where she had undergone an operation. Funeral services were held at the home of her brother, C. A. DAVIS, Jr., in St. Paul, Minn. In accordance with her wishes her body was cremated and the ashes were brought to this city yesterday morning and short services held at the Evergreen cemetery, where they were interred.

OBITUARY.

Mrs. Carrie DAVIS DEMING, formerly of Fairfield, died in Minneapolis, Minn., Nov. 28th, funeral services being held at the home of C. A. DAVIS, Jr., a brother. Her ashes were interred in Fairfield December 1st.

Those in the funeral party accompanying the ashes to this city were her two daughters, Miss Irene DEMING, of Huron, South Dakota, and Miss Helen DEMING, of Toledo, Iowa, her sister-in-law, Mrs. Fred SMITH, of Chicago, Ill., and Camden Raeburn of Huron, South Dakota, and Harry Smith, of Toledo.

Carrie DAVIS was born in Sheffield, Ill., on Sept. 15, 1867. On January 2nd, 1888, she was united in marriage in Chicago, Ill., to Frank Y. DEMING, who died at his home in this city in December, 1895. Besides her two daughters, Irene and Helen, she is survived by her age father, C. A. DAVIS, and one brother, C. A. DAVIS, Jr., both of St. Paul, Minn.

Mrs. DEMING was a woman of many noble qualities and many friends here will be grieved to learn of her death. It was nearly two years ago that the family removed from this city, where they had resided for many years.
