Services for widely known resident to be Wednesday, 2 p.m.Mrs. Anna DeKALB, 78, widely-known Fairfield resident, passed away at 9:15 o'clock this morning at the home of her son Pearl M. DeKALB 200 East Briggs street. She had been in failing health for a number of years, and seriously ill for the past six weeks.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, at the Hoskins Funeral Home. Services will be in charge of Rev. William R. Yingling. Burial wil be in Evergreen cemetery.
Mrs. DeKALB was born December 13, 1862 in Lee county. She moved to Fairfield 21 years ago.
Mrs. DeKALB had been a member of the Presbyterian church since her youth. She was married to F. M. DeKALB on January 29, 1888 in Fort Madison and they lived for a number of years on a farm near Donnellson. Until her health failed about 17 years ago, Mrs. DeKALB was faithful in attendance at the Presbyterian church in Donnellson, and later in Fairfield.
She is survived by the following children, Elsie DeKALB of Albia, Luella DeKALB of Burlington, Mrs. W. W. SMITHSON, Pearl M. DeKALB and Leo DeKALB, all of Fairfield, and by ten grandchildren. Also surviving are the following brothers and sisters, Mrs. M. T. HELM and C. O. SHOENE (sic - SCHOENE), both of Donnellson, Adame SHOENE of Syracuse, Nebr., and Mrs. Lydia HOEFFNER of Peoria, Ill. Her husband, F. M. DeKALB passed away April 25, 1927.

The following persons attended the funeral services for the late Mrs. Anna DeKALB, who passed away at the home of her son, Pearl DeKALB, 200 East Briggs street on Monday: Mrs. Lydia HIEFFNER of Peoria, Ill., a sister, Mr. and Mrs. M. T. HELM of Donnellson, Mrs. HELM also a sister; Mr. and Mrs. C. O. SHOENE (sic - SCHOENE), Mr. and Mrs. John SHOENE, Mr. and Mrs. George SHOENE, Mr. and Mrs. Orville Wirsig and Mrs. Clara Raid, all of Donnellson; Mrs. Ben Konable, Mrs. Earl Smith, Gerald Cook and Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Cook of Ft. Madison; Miss Elsie DeKALB of Albia and Miss Luella DeKALB of Burlington, daughters of Mrs. DeKALB were also present. Willis SMITHSON of Derby, a grandson came for the services, but returned to his school work last evening. The daughterts plan to return to their work today.
