DIED.

DE GALLEFORD.--In this city, Wednesday, February 5, 1879, Mrs. Amanda De GALLEFORD, wife of John De GALLEFORD, aged 29 years.

By the death of Mrs. De GALLEFORD Fairfield has lost one of its most estimable women, a husband a fond wife, and three darling little children are left motherless. A woman of culture, taste and refinement, one whose character and goodly qualities were known only to be esteemed, in her comparatively short residence in this city she had won many warm friends and admirers. Patient and calm through earthly sufferings, death had no terror for her, but 'twas sad to be taken away with so much to do in the life before her. The lips are hushed, the eyes closed, the soul taken flight. Death's chilling breath hath done its work, and all the beauteous sweetness of earth or sky, the tears of friends, the wails of anguish avail not. She is gone, but her memory still remains, and as that of one sinless and pure let us cherish it. 'Tis one more joined the innumerable throng who sleep the sleep that knows no waking. The funeral occurred on Friday, and a large concourse of friends paid the last sad rites to the departed one and followed the remains to their final resting place. The sympathy of the entire community goes out toward the bereaved husband and family--for indeed is theirs a loss which will be deeply felt.
