Death of William DAY.

William DAY, who had been a resident of this city for twenty years, died at his home on West Broadway Saturday, after a protracted illness. Deceased was a native of New Jersey and was in the seventy-fifth year of his age. He was in business in this city for several years and had a very general acquaintance among our people and many warm friends. Mr. DAY was a man of excellent character and was very generally respected. His wife and two daughters, Mrs. John W. COMINGORE of this city, and Mrs. Emily WALTIMIER of Kansas City, Mo., survive him. Funeral services were held at the First Methodist church Monday morning, conducted by Rev. I. O. Kemble. The remains were interred in the Evergreen cemetery.

Wm. DAY Dead.

Wm. DAY, a time honored resident of Fairfield, after a lengthy illness died at his home last Saturday at 1 o'clock p.m. Mr. DAY was born in New Jersey about 74 years ago. He lived in Ohio a number of years and came to Iowa in '76 where he has since lived. For a number of years he was interested in the lumber business here and at Eldon, Iowa. He leaves a wife and three children: J. W. BURNETT, of Mt. Sterling, Ill.; Mrs. COMENGORE (sic - COMINGORE), of Fairfield; and Mrs. WALTEYMER, of Kansas City. There are also a number of relatives and hosts of friends who mourn his loss and sympathize with the afflicted family.

The funeral was held at the M. E. church, Monday, at 10 o'clock a.m.

Note: Buried in Lot SDof01-006. His wife was Lydia D. BADGELY BURNETT, she being the widow of Andrew Jackson BURNETT who died in 1850 in NJ. William and Lydia were married in NJ in 1852. Lydia died in 1912 and is buried with William.
