Dr. DAY Passed Away At 1:45 P. M. Today

Dr. W. R. DAY, retired physician who has lived in Fairfield for the past several years, passed away at his home, 407 West Washington street, about 1:45 p.m. today.

The body was taken to the Hoskins funeral home where last rites are pending.

SERVICES FOR DR. DAY TODAY

Last rites were held at 2:30 p.m. today for Dr. William Ray DAY, prominent resident of Fairfield for the past seven years. The services were held at the Hoskins funeral home with Dr. C. R. Douglass in charge. Burial was in Evergreen cemetery.

Dr. DAY passed away at his home, 407 West Washington street, at 12:50 p.m. Thursday following a serious illness since Wednesday afternoon. He had been in failing health the past three years.

He was born May 15, 1866, at Stockport, the son of the late A. H. and Anna FOX DAY. On November 16, 1901, he married Jessie HUFFMAN at Stockport.

Dr. and Mrs. DAY came to Fairfield from Cheyenne, Wyoming, in 1939, where he had been a physician for 25 years. Prior to going to Cheyenne, they lived at Moravia, Iowa, 13 years where he practiced his profession. He retired and came to Fairfield to make his home.

He was a member of the Presbyterian church in Fairfield, and Clinton Lodge No. 15.

Besides his wife, Dr. DAY is survived by a foster daughter, Mrs. W. F. CHANDLER, Mamaroneck, New York; two granddaughters, Carol Ann and June; six nieces and one nephew. A brother, A. H. DAY, passed away in St. Louis, December 8, 1944.
