Page 8, Column 7Illness Fatal To Mrs. Jessie DAY
Mrs. Jessie H. DAY, 84, died at 9 a.m. today at her home at 407 W. Washington St. She had been in failing health for several years and seriously ill for a week.
Last rites are incomplete. The body is at the Hoskins Funeral home.
Mrs. DAY was born March 21, 1874 in Van Buren county, the daughter of John and Melissa BESWICK HUFFMAN. She was reared in Van Buren county and attended Drake university. She was married to Dr. W. R. DAY Nov. 6, 1901. He preceded her in death in 1946. Dr. and Mrs. DAY moved to Fairfield from Cheyenne, Wyo., 19 years ago.
Mrs. DAY was a member of the First Presbyterian church. She was also a 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star and a member of the Past Matrons club and Eastern Star club.
Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Nette MORRIS, Stockport; one foster daughter, Mrs. W. F. CHANDLER, Mamaroneck, N.Y., and two granddaughters. Three sisters and one brother are deceased.

Last rites will be Monday at 2:30 p.m. for Mrs. Jessie DAY, Fairfield resident who passed away Friday morning at her home.
The services will be at the Hoskins funeral home with Dr. C. R. Douglass in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
She had been in failing health for several years prior to her death.
