Fred S. DALLNER, long-time resident of Fairfield and Jefferson county, passed away at 5:30 p.m. Monday at the University hospital in Iowa City where he underwent surgery on April 22 (note: in Johnson Co., IA).
He had been in failing health for the past six months and entered the hospital on April 13.
Last rites will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Hoskins funeral home with Dr. L. L. Weis in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery. Members of the Odd Fellows lodge will have charge of services at the grave.
Fred S. DALLNER, 82, was born Sept. 1, 1870, in Lockridge township, the son of the late George and Sophia DUTTWEILER DALLNER. He lived in Lockridge township until 1925 at which time he moved to Fairfield. The family home is at 810 S. fourth street.
He was united in marriage on March 27, 1895, to Lorena LYON who survives. The wedding took place near Lockridge.
DALLNER was a farmer until his retirement, was a member of the Methodist church and had been a member of Walnut Lodge No. 317 I.O.O.F. at Perlee for over fifty years. He had lived in Fairfield for the past 28 years.
Besides his wife he is survived by the following children: Espy DALLNER, Rex DALLNER, Mrs. Emerson MASDEN, Fairfield; Beatrice at home; Dale who lives in Des Moines; and Mrs. Philip KOFF (sic - KOPP), Muscatine.
He is also survived by eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Philp MYERS, Long Beach, Calif.
