Mary Jo Watts-O'Dell, 72, of St. Cloud, Minn., died Monday, June 21, 2005, at St. Benedict's Senior Community Center.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 25, 2005, at the Daniel Funeral Home Chapel in St. Cloud, with Pastor David Reiter officiating. A memorial service and burial of cremains will be held at a later date in Bonaparte Cemetery in Bonaparte.

Friends may call after 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Mary Jo was born on Nov. 5, 1932, in Bonaparte, to Leslie and Winnetka (Hanson) Watts. She attended and received her teaching degree from Parsons College in Fairfield. She then moved to Corydon where she taught school.

She married Jerry O'Dell on June 27, 1953, in the First Presbyterian Church in Bonaparte. She lived all of her married life in Corydon where they raised their daughter, Jeralee.

Mary Jo moved to St. Cloud in 1975 and worked for Banker System's until her retirement. Mary Jo was a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and PEO in Corydon. She was also a member and past deacon of The First Presbyterian Church in St. Cloud and a member of Alcoholics Anonymous in St. Cloud.

Mary Jo loved dancing, watching and listening to sporting events, and listening to music. Mary Jo also enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Mary Jo is survived by her daughter, Jeralee O'Dell-McCarty and her husband John of Corydon; grandchildren, Jeremy McCarty of Corydon and his Courtney George of Rolla, Mo., and Jennifer McCarty and Mitch Cashatt of Parkersburg; brother, Carl Watts and wife Jan of Fairfield; and her cousins, Ann Ferren-Lynagh and her husband John, John Ferren and his wife Linda and Bob Gardner and his wife Velma Jo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and an infant sister, Doris.
