Mrs. Keith CREW Dies Suddenly

Mrs. Keith CREW, 61, died early this morning after suffering a heart attack at her home late last night.

She was stricken about 10 p.m. Thursday and taken to the Jefferson County Hospital where she died at 1:05 a.m. today.

Last rites will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the United Methodist Church with the Rev. Wilson Hyde in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

The casket will be taken from the Raymond Funeral Home to the church at 11:30 a.m. the day of the funeral.

Velma Ruth CREW was born July 9, 1907, near Hillsboro, the daughter of Walter J. and Grace ZEIGLER RANSON. She was educated in the Mount Pleasant and Fairfield schools.

On June 8, 1935, she was married to Keith CREW in Ottumwa. She was a member of the Methodist Church and employed at the Student Union on the college campus.

Survivors include her husband and three sons, Leland, Fairfield; Bruce, Newton; and Clair, Chicago.

Other survivors include eight grandchildren, her mother, Mrs. W. J. RANSON, Fairfield; three sisters, Mrs. Mildred HARLAND, Fairfield; Mrs. Kenneth HOFFMAN, Ruston, La.; and Mrs. Robert COCHRAN, Eagle, Neb.; and a brother, Kenneth, Cedar Rapids.

Mrs. CREW was preceded in death by her father, and one granddaughter. The family home is at 306 E. Lowe.

Note: Buried in Lot 2nd.272. Velma was Keith's second wife. Sons Leland and Bruce were children from Keith's first marriage to Frances Dorothy OLSON CREW, who died in 1933. Keith and both wives are all on the same lot.
