Funeral Monday For Minnie COX

Minnie Mary COX, 90, native of Jefferson County, died at 2:45 a.m. today at the Jefferson County Hospital. She had been in failing health for some time.

Last rites will be held Monday, Aug. 24, at the Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Gilmore in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Born Feb. 22, 1880, Minnie Mary COX was the daughter of Charles L. and Anna Marie CASE COX. She was reared and educated in Jefferson County and was a member of the Methodist Church. She was employed as a milliner for a number of years. Her home was at 105½ S. Third.

Miss COX is survived by one brother, Charles L. COX, and a sister, Mrs. Bernice PEACOCK, both of Keosauqua.

She was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.

Note: Buried in Lot 3rd.176. Her gravestone notes a birth year of 1881, which is in error. She appears in the 1880 Census which was taken June 1, 1880, as a 3-month-old child, born in February.
