MRS. BENJAMIN COX DIED THIS MORNING

Mrs. Benjamin COX passed away this morning at three o'clock at the home of her daughter Mrs. Bert SNOOK, 700 South Seventh street.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at four o'clock from the home in charge of Rev. Lewis Mendenhall, assisted by Rev. R. H. Polly. Interment will be made in Evergreen cemetery. Mrs. COX was born Aug. 6, 1848. She has been confined to her bed for the past eleven weeks.

OBITUARY

MRS. B. F. COX

Martha Junkin TEMPLE was born in Washington county, Iowa, August 6, 1848, and died at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bert SNOOK, 700 South 7th street, August 22, 1924.

She was married to Benjamine COX in Washington County, Iowa, in 1864 when sixteen years old. Of this union were born three daughters one dying in early childhood, Eva, who married Orin DUKE, died 22 years ago, having two children May and Frank who were raised by their grandmother Mrs. COX. Frank died seven years ago. May married Charles WAGER and is living in Oak Park, a suburb of Chicago. They have one infant son Charles Jr. Bertha married Bert SNOOK and is now living at 700 South 7th street where Mrs. COX died. They have one child living, Grace, who married Mr. WATTS and are living at the parental home. Grace has been a great comfort to her grandmother, reading selections from the Bible to her. Those she favored most were St. John 14, 1-6; Isaiah 43, 2; John 16th chapter; and the 103 Psalm. Mrs. COX united with the Baptist chrch (sic) in early life.

She was of a retired disposition loving home so much that she seldom attended public gatherings. For the last eiight (sic) years she has been failing until the final summons came which she had fully prepared to meet. In her last days she was wholly absorbed in having read to her the Word of God and she feasted upon its promises.

Those who knew Mrs. COX in her home life can attest her Christian character. Her relatives and friends will greatly miss her, but she has gone to her better and heavenly home.

Funeral services were conducted in the home of her daughter at 700 South 7th street at 4 o'clock August 23, by Rev. L. Mendenhall, assisted by Rev. Polly. Interment in Evergreen cemetery.
