Mrs. COX Dies

Mrs. Esther COX, 66, died about 10:30 a.m. at the Jefferson County Hospital where she had been a patient since Jan. 17.

The body is at the Weston Behner Funeral Home where last rites are pending.

Mrs. COX is the mother of Richard COX, 800 W. Taylor in Fairfield.

COX Funeral To Be Thursday

Mrs. Esther COX, longtime resident of Jefferson County, died at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Jefferson County Hospital. She had been in failing health the past six months and seriously ill the past two weeks.

Last rites will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Weston Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Wilson Hyde in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Esther L. COX was born April 3, 1905, in Jefferson County. She was the daughter of Albert and Anna JOHNSON OLSON.

Her marriage to Charles C. COX took place Aug. 5, 1923. He died Aug. 4, 1965.

Mrs. COX was a member of the United Methodist Church and had made her home in Jefferson County over 40 years.

She is survived by one son, Richard S. COX, Fairfield; one daughter, Mrs. Evelyn KASKA, Cedar Rapids; eight grandchildren and three sisters, Mrs. Herbert BABCOCK, Fairfield; Mrs. Harold McINTIRE, Fairfield; and Mrs. Theodore CROW, Martinsburg. She was preceded in death by three sisters.
