Charles C. COX Taken In Death

Richard S. COX, 800 W. Taylor, this morning received word of the death of his father, Charles C. COX, who died early today in a hospital at Glendale, Calif.

The body is being returned to Fairfield for last rites and burial. The time and place for the funeral services will be announced at a later date.

Charles C. COX, former resident of Fairfield, made his home at Montebello, Calif. He had been critically ill for the past three weeks.

COX Funeral To Be Monday

Last rites will be Monday for Charles C. COX, former Fairfield resident who died Wednesday in the Memorial hospital at Glendale, Calif.

The services Monday will be at 10:30 a.m. at the Raymond funeral home with the Rev. Kenneth Pohlenz in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Prior to his death COX had been in failing health for some time and seriously ill the past two weeks. The family home is at Montebello, Calif.

Charles C. COX, 58, was born Nov. 9, 1906, in Keokuk county, the son of Milo S. and Fannie Z. TRAIL COX. He was reared and educated in the Richland community.

On Aug. 5, 1923, he was united in marriage to Esther Louise OLSON who survives. He lived in Fairfield for 20 years before moving to the west coast. He was a pipe fitter by trade and was a member of the Eagles lodge (sic - Aerie/Club).

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his mother, Mrs. Milo S. COX, Mt. Pleasant; a daughter, Mrs. Earl KASKA, Cedar Rapids; a son, Richard S. COX, Fairfield; eight grandchildren and a half-sister, Mrs. Howard LEGGETT, Brighton.
