KEOSAUQUA -- Charles L. (Ted) COX, 87, retired farmer, died at 11:30 a.m., Saturday at the Van Buren Memorial Hospital (note: in Van Buren Co., IA).
Services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m., at the Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua with the Rev. Harold Schnedler of the Keosauqua Congregational Church, officiating. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield.
COX was born on Dec. 3, 1886 at Seymour, the son of Charles and Anna CASE COX. He was married to Lelah G. SHANER of Fairfield. She died in 1941 (sic - 1944). In 1946, he was married to Gertrude BRANSTETTER CARROLL, who died in 1952.
He was also preceded in death by a son, a brother and three sisters.
On July 1, 1959, he married Leola HART at Quincy, Ill. She survives. Also surviving are a son, Richard COX of Fairfield, a sister, Mrs. Berniece PEACOCK of Keosauqua, three grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
For a number of years he farmed in the Brookville community. He later managed the Tarkio Cattle Ranch at Memphis, Mo.
