E. CORTUM rites set

Edgar William CORTUM, 88, a resident of the Nelson Nursing Home, died at 3:30 a.m. today at the Jefferson County Hospital.

He was born July 12, 1890 in Davis County the son of William and Mina ARCHER CORTUM. He was reared and educated in Shenandoah.

His marriage to Ollie M. CLEMENTS took place in Shenandoah, June, 1911.

A member of the United Methodist church, he was employed at the Iowa Malleable Iron in Fairfield for 14 years and later retired from Good Year Rubber company in Keokuk.

Surviving are one daughter, Thelma HEAD, San Jose, Calif.; three grandsons and one brother, Bernie G. CORTUM, Wellman. He was preceded by two brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Raymond Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Bartruff officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen cemetery.
