Died in Nebraska.

The remains of Samuel COPELAND, who died at Wisner, Neb., the 23d ult., were brought to this city for interment Friday. Mr. COPELAND came to this county from Ohio in 1891, and resided here until about three years ago. He had since made his home in Colorado and Nebraska. He was about seventy-six years of age. Those who made his acquaintance here very generally speak of him as an excellent man. Two sons survive him in this county, Fry and John H. COPELAND.

Obituary.

Samuel COPELAND dropped dead at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J. T. BRYAN, near Wisner, Neb., on the 23rd of Dec., 1900. Death was caused from dropsy of the heart.

Deceased was born near Cadiz, Ohio, Feb. 2nd, 1826. He was married to Mary E. RALSTON, March 13th, 1862, who with seven children still survive him: Fry and Jno., of Fairfield, Iowa, S. A. COPELAND, of Adrian, Minn., Mrs. Walter LAUGHRIDGE (sic - LAUGHRIGE), of Savannah, Mo., Mrs. Chas. CHAFFEE and Mrs. Lou BRADBURY, of Whitewater, Col., Mrs. J. T. BRYAN, of Wisner, Neb. He became a resident of Fairfield in 1881 where he has resided until 1899 when he removed to Whitewater, Col., where he and his wife remained a short time and then went to Wisner, Neb., to reside with his daughter, Mrs. J. T. BRYAN.

Mr. COPELAND had been in good health until a few weeks previous to his death, which was unexpected. Mrs. COPELAND was with one of her daughters, at Savannah, Mo., at the time of his demise. The body was brought to Fairfield met by his heart-broken wife and children. The funeral was from the residence of his son, John, and the remains laid to rest in the Evergreen cemetery.

And blessed are they who it receive.
One more beloved one gone to heaven,
'Tis his reward, we should not grieve."
