Florence GROVE COOK, 81, 308 E. Madison, died at 3:25 p.m. Tuesday at the Jefferson County Hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Raymond Funeral Home. The Rev. Keith Lingwall will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home at their convenience. Memorials may be made to the First Lutheran Church.
Florence GROVE COOK was born Nov. 7, 1904, in Jefferson County. She was the daughter of Oscar Ray and Anna L. CASE GROVE.
She was a former school teacher and was employed for a time at the Leber Department Store formerly on the northeast corner of the square.
She was married to Harry W. COOK April 29, 1937, at the home of her parents. He died May 19, 1974.
Mrs. COOK made her home in Youngstown, Ohio, from 1929 to 1970 when she moved to St. Petersburg, Fla. She returned to Fairfield in 1981. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Fairfield.
Survivors include two sisters, Hazel BUTLER, Fairfield, and Lois DENNISON, Albia, along with nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her husband Mrs. COOK was preceded in death by a sister.
