Page 2, Column 1MRS. WILLIAM COOK DIES OF TYPHOID
Mrs. Emma Jane COOK, wife of William F. COOK, passed away yesterday morning at her home three miles west of this city. Her death was caused by an illness with typhoid fever.
Mrs. COOK was born April 27th, 1871, and had lived in this county many years.
Besides her husband she leaves seven children to mourn her death. The funeral services were held at the home at two o'clock this afternoon. Burial was in Evergreen cemetery.

Emma Jane WHIPPLE, daughter of James and Susan WHIPPLE, was born April 27, 1871, at Rome, Ia(.) She was united in marriage to William COOK June 10, 1890, and to this union eight children were born, seven of who (sic) survive the mother. They are Mrs. Frank KELTNER, Wesley, Roy, Harry, Bessie, Willie and Dorothy.
Mrs. COOK passed away Sunday morning, Sept. 7th, 1913, at 7:30 o'clock after an illness of four weeks with typhoid fever. Besides the husband and children, Mrs. COOK left three brothers and two sisters to mourn her death--Add WHIPPLE of Ottumwa, Charles WHIPPLE of Memphis, Mo., James WHIPPLE of Rome, Mrs Della SCAMMONS of Rome, and Mrs. Kate ETHRIDGE of Biblegrove, Mo
Mrs. COOK united with the Presbyterian church six years ago.
