Theron COCHRAN Dies At Hospital

Theron COCHRAN, well known resident of the Batavia community, passed away about 1 p.m. today at the Jefferson County hospital where he was admitted as a patient yesterday.

The body is at the Raymond Funeral home where last rites are pending.

Theron COCHRAN Services Monday

Last rites for Theron C. COCHRAN, 68, Batavia farmer, will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Raymond Funeral home in charge of the Rev. Kermit Black. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

COCHRAN died Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Jefferson County hospital. He had been ill only a short time with flu, which developed into pneumonia.

COCHRAN was born March 6, 1891 at Benkelman, Neb., the son of Charles and Anna COCHRAN. Most of his life was spent in Jefferson county. He had made his home in Batavia since 1947.

COCHRAN was married to Mae (sic - Garnet Mae) SHELTON March 11, 1919. He was a member of the American Legion, Veterans of World War I and the Fairfield Methodist church.

Surviving are his wife and the following children: Harold C. COCHRAN, Fairfield; Robert B. COCHRAN, Libertyville; Mrs. John PEARSON, Batavia; Mrs. John McNIEL, Dubuque, and Dwight C. COCHRAN, Batavia.

Nine grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters also survive: Clarence COCHRAN, Jefferson, Ore.; Fred COCHRAN, Mrs. Ben MURPHY and Mrs. Guy McCORMICK, all of Fairfield. One infant daughter preceded him in death.
