George CLARKE Dies Suddenly

George E. CLARKE, long-time Philco-Dexter employe, died suddenly at his home, 401 W. Kirkwood, Sunday afternoon.

He had not been feeling well the past few days but worked as usual last Friday. He became suddenly ill after his noon meal Sunday and passed away.

Last rites will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Weston Behner funeral home with the Rev. J. Roland Crandall officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery. Members of the Masonic lodge will have charge of services at the grave.

George E. CLARKE, 68, was born Feb. 28, 1892, at Pella, Iowa, the son of Moses and Jane FINN CLARKE. He was married to Leona K. FRITCHEN on April 4, 1926, in the Little Brown church at Nashua, Iowa.

He had lived in the Fairfield community for the past 45 years. He was a veteran of World War II; he was a member of the Masonic lodge for the past 40 years; and had worked at the Philco-Dexter plant for over 38 years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, James R. CLARKE, Ottumwa; three grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Mary BUSWELL, Detroit.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, two brothers and two sisters.

NOTICE OF PROBATE OF WILL IN DISTRICT COURT
State Of Iowa
Jefferson County, ss.

To All Whom It May Concern:

You Are Hereby Notified, That an instrument of writing purported to be the last Will and Testament of George E. CLARKE, deceased, dated Nobember (sic) 14, 1959 having been this day filed, opened and read, Wednesday the 21st day of February 1962 is fixed for hearing proof of same at the Court House in Fairfield, Iowa, before the District Court of said County, or the Clerk of said Court; and at 9:30 o'clock a.m. of the day above mentioned all persons interested are hereby notified and required to appear, and show cause if any they have, why said instrument should not be probated and allowed as and for the last Will and Testament of said deceased.

Notice Is Hereby Given, that the undersigned has been duly appointed and qualified as Executrix of the estate of George E. CLARKE deceased, late of Jefferson County. All persons indebted to said estate are requested to make immediate payment, and those having claims against the same will present them within legal time, duly authenticated, to the undersigned, for allowance and file in the office of the Clerk of the District Court.
