Kenneth D. Heston, 73, of Marion, died Thursday, June 9, 2005, in Cedar Rapids.

The funeral is tentatively scheduled for Monday morning. Services are pending at Murdock Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids.

Mr. Heston was born Sept. 11, 1931, in Fairfield.

Kenneth Dale Heston, 73, of Marion, died Thursday, June 9, 2005, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids following a long illness.

The funeral was today, Monday, at Murdoch Linwood Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids. Burial with military honors, was in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the kidney foundation.

Mr. Heston was born Dec. 11, 1931, in Fairfield, the son of William and Laura Anderson Heston.

He graduated from Fairfield High School in 1949 and served in the United States Air Force from 1951 until 1971. He served during the Korean Conflict.

He retired from Rockwell Collins and became owner and operator of an antique mall in Marion.

He collected antiques and attended auctions. He also was a ballroom dancer, Hawkeye fan and fair-weather Cardinals fan.

Survivors include two sons, Jerry Heston and wife Pat of Memphis, Tenn., and Doug Heston and wife Kathy of Land O Lakes, Fla.; one brother, Doyle Heston of Palestine, Texas; special friend, Claire Smith; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Dick Heston.
