Joyce Kay JEFFREY, 79, of Fairfield, IA, passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2020, at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield, IA. A graveside service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 11, 2020, at Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Fairfield, IA. Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 10, 2020, at the Cranston Family Funeral Home in Fairfield, IA. The family will not be present during this time. If you are unable to attend but would like us to add your name to the guestbook, please call 472-3176 and we will make sure to add your name.

Memorial contribution in Joyce's honor may be directed to the family and mailed to 2440 Glasgow Rd., Fairfield, IA 52556. Friends may leave online condolences at www.cranstonfamilyfuneralhome.com.

Joyce Kay JEFFREY was born on June 27, 1941, to James and Hilda SIX WADE. She graduated from Fairfield High School and went on to further her education at Parson's College (sic) in Fairfield. On July 3, 1960, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Edwin JEFFREY at the First Christian Church in Fairfield. The two celebrated 59 years of marriage before he passed away on March 25, 2020. Joyce worked at Louden's and Fairfield Glove in the bookkeeping department for many years. She was a gifted musician and played the organ and piano for 20 years at the First Christian Church in Fairfield and then at the First Presbyterian Church with Shirley Nixon. Joyce accompanied many youths for solos and musical contests. She preformed (sic) at Christmas Cantatas with Shirley and played for the Fairfield Lion meetings, as well as many weddings and funerals. She delighted in her family and time spent together on their acreage with the wildlife and birds.

In her early years, she and Ed loved to go camping with family and taking rides on the motorcycle. In May of 2011, Joyce suffered a major heart attack and stroke. Ed and family became her caregivers until Ed's passing. She moved to Parkview Care Center in April and the family wishes to thank the staff for their loving care.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; two siblings, Ron WADE and Pam WADE FOSTER; as well as two brothers-in-law, Bill DRAKE and Bill HUDSON.

Left to share her story are her children, James JEFFREY (Tiffani Webb DANIELSON) and Jay JEFFREY; five grandchildren, Jennifer JEFFREY, James JEFFREY Jr., Mike WISEMAN, Katelund JEFFREY and Kyleigh JEFFREY; five great-grandchildren, Izayah DIEHL, Makenzie VORHIES, Ava JEFFREY, Rhemi JEFFREY and Royce JEFFREY; as well as many extended family and friends.
