Betty Louise HANSEN, 91, of Washington, died Saturday, December 5, 2020, at the United Presbyterian Home in Washington (note: in Washington Co., IA).

Graveside services have been set for 2:00 PM, Wednesday, December 9, 2020, at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. Beatty-Peterseim Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements and the service will be livestreamed at the Beatty-Peterseim Funeral Home Facebook page. Memorials in the name of Betty L. HANSEN have been established for the United Presbyterian Home or Hospice of Washington County.

Betty was born August 14, 1929, in Fairfield, Iowa, the daughter of Kamiel and Marie (HOPPE) VAN DE VOORDE. She graduated from Cedar Rapids High School and Beauty College in Cedar Rapids. She was united in marriage to Donald Leon HANSEN on January 12, 1952, in Fairfield.

She was a beautician, homemaker and retired from Kmart in Glendale, AZ. She enjoyed painting, ceramics, crocheting, remodeling houses with her husband and was an excellent seamstress.

Survivors include her husband, Leon of Washington; Dan (Donna) HANSEN of Colorado Springs, CO, Deborah HANSEN-PENA (Arturo PENA) Center Point, TX, Denise (Rusty) TSCHANTZ of Washington, Dennis HANSEN of Riverside, IA, and Doug (Susan) HANSEN of Holly, CO; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; niece, Elodie SELLERS; and nephew, Julies VAN DE VOORDE.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Virginia.
