Dr. W. R. CAVENEE, 81, retired veterinarian, died suddenly of an apparent heart attack about 6:30 p.m. Friday at his home, 204 S. Maple.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the First Christian Church with the Rev. J. Ed Dorman officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
W. R. CAVENEE was born Sept. 9, 1892, east of Lockridge in Henry County. He was the son of Oliver and Isabelle KEIN CAVENEE. He was reared in the Lockridge Community and graduated from the Kansas City Veterinary College in 1914.
His marriage to Mildred NEWBERG took Place in May, 1913, at Mount Pleasant. She preceded him in death Feb. 14, 1963.
Dr. CAVENEE had been a resident of Fairfield for the past 36 years, retiring 10 years ago. He was a member of the First Christian Church, Fraternal Order of Eagles, and a life member of the Fairfield Elks.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Juanita SHAW, Wilmette, Ill., and Mrs. Virginia SMITH, Scottsdale, Arizona; two sons, Kenneth, Chicago, and Jack, Fairfield; also five grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Dr. CAVENEE was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Raymond Funeral Home.

YOU ARE HEREBY NOTIFIED THAT ON THE 23RD DAY OF SEPTEMBER, 1974, THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF WALDO R. CAVENEE A-K-A W. R. CAVENEE, DECEASED, BEARING DATE OF THE 30TH DAY OF DECEMBER, 1958, WAS ADMITTED TO PROBATE IN THE ABOVE NAMED COURT AND THAT JACK LEE CAVENEE WAS APPOINTED EXECUTOR OF SAID ESTATE.
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN THAT ANY ACTION TO SET ASIDE SAID WILL MUST BE BROUGHT IN THE DISTRICT COURT OF SAID COUNTY WITHIN ONE YEAR FROM THE DATE OF THE SECOND PUBLICATION OF THIS NOTICE, OR THEREAFTER BE FOREVER BARRED.
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN THAT ALL PERSONS INDEBTED TO SAID ESTATE ARE REQUESTED TO MAKE IMMEDIATE PAYMENT TO THE UNDERSIGNED, AND CREDITORS HAVING CLAIMS AGAINST SAID ESTATE SHALL FILE THEM WITH THE CLERK OF THE ABOVE NAMED DISTRICT COURT, AS PROVIDED BY LAW, DULY AUTHENTICATED, FOR ALLOWANCE; AND UNLESS SO FILED WITHIN SIX MONTHS FROM THE SECOND PUBLICATION OF THIS NOTICE (UNLESS OTHERWISE ALLOWED OR PAID) SUCH CLAIM SHALL THEREAFTER BE FOREVER BARRED.
