VISITS NIECE, MRS. CASTILE VERY ILL AT HOME HERE

The Rev. W. L. CLAPP of Washington, Ia., was a recent overnight guest in the home of his brother, Charles CLAPP, 201 West Hempstead St. He came especially to see his niece Mrs. R. B. CASTILE who is seriously ill at her home 301 S. Main St. Mrs. CASTILE's condition was reported as not improved this morning.

Mrs. Roy CASTILE In Critical Condition

Mrs. Roy CASTILE of 301 South Main street who has been bedfast at her home for the past 16 weeks is reported as having failed rapidly since Christmas Day.

Her condition is considered extremely critical.

MRS. R. CASTILE DIED THURSDAY AT HER HOME
Funeral services being held at Behner funeral home today

Funeral services for Mrs. Roy CASTILE, 48, well known resident of Fairfield, are being held at the Weston Behner funeral home at 2:30 this afternoon. Mrs. CASTILE passed away Thursday evening about 7:30 at her home, 301 South Main St.

Rev. A. P. Keast, pastor of the First Methodist church will be in charge. Music is to be furnished by Mrs. Frank Pierson and the Rebekah Lodge will have charge of the services at the grave.

Pallbearers will be Karl Quick, Logan Ogden, Charles Linn, Joe Liblin, M. G. Black and Charles Carter. Burial will be in the Evergreen cemetery.

Mrs. Mildred CASTILE was born February 19, 1894 in Chadron, Neb.

She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles H. CLAPP of Fairfield.

Mrs. CASTILE was a member of the Methodist church and also a Rebekah.

She is survived by her husband, Roy, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles CLAPP and three daughters, Marjorie, Ruth and Gertrude CASTILE and one son Charles CASTILE all at home and one sister, Mrs. Florence SHAFER of Fairfield.

Mrs. CASTILE had been seriously ill for a number of weeks.

OBITUARY

MRS. R.B. CASTILE

Mrs. R. B. CASTILE passed away at her home 301 S. Main, Fairfield, Iowa, December 31st, 1942 after an extended illness. Burial was in Evergreen cemetery January 2nd, 1943 at 2 p.m. from the Weston Behner funeral home, Rev. A. P. Keast of the local Methodist church officiated at the services. Music by Mrs. Frank Pierson. Pallbearers, friends of the family, were M. G. Black, Logan Ogden, Charles Linn, Charles Carter, Karl Quick, Joe Liblin. Fairfield Rebekah Lodge No. 96 gave their burial service at the grave.

Mildred Iona CLAPP was born February 19, 1894 at Chadron, Neb. She moved with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. H. CLAPP, in November of 1898, to the J. W. CLAPP farm east of Fairfield; attended Buchanan No. 4 school; and graduated from the Fairfield high school in 1913. She wrote the class poem and was class pianist. After a post graduate course in high school she taught several years in Jefferson county rural schools.

January 17, 1917 she was married to Roy B. CASTILE and went to housekeeping on Wadesdale farm east of Fairfield. They also lived near Salina, at Lockridge and moved to Fairfield about twenty years ago.

Mildred was active in church work and Sunday School, assisted in organizing PTA at Washington grade school, served a musician several terms in Fairfield Rebekah Lodge No. 96 passing through the Vice Grand's chair and on to Noble Gran for her term. She was a successful officer and filled the chair with much credit. She was a wonderful mother, always. She is survived by her husband Roy CASTILE and four children, Marjorie, Ruth, Charles and Gertrude, her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Charles CLAPP, her sister Mrs. Glen SHAFER, a number of uncles and aunts, cousins and a host of friends and good neighbors.

New Sweden Folk Attended Last Rites For Mrs. R. CASTILE

NEW SWEDEN, Jan. 7--Mr. and Mrs. Joe Liblin, Mrs. Bertha Kauffman, Mrs. Emil Quick and Mr. and Mrs. Karl Quick attended the funeral services for Mrs. Roy CASTILE, which were held at Fairfield Saturday afternoon.

Misses Evelyn West, Pauline Quick and Evelyn Nelson, returned to their school duties after enjoying a ten-day Christmas vacation.
