MRS. SAM CASADY (sic - CASSADY) IS BURIED HERE
Brighton Woman Passed Away Suddenly Saturday At Oskaloosa

Mrs. Sam CASSADY passed away at the Oskaloosa hospital at 3 oclock Saturday afternoon. Mrs. CASSADY had been in her usual good health up until about six weeks ago. At first it was thought the was suffering from an attack of flu. Week before last she went to Oskaloosa to consult the doctors who upon examination diagnosed her trouble as abcess of the liver. She entered the hospital on Monday for treatment, expecting to submit to the operation as soon as her condition would permit, but she continued to grow worse and it soon became apparent that her chances for recovery were small..

Funeral services were held from the Christian church of which she was a member, at 1:30 oclock yesterday in charge of Rev. James Reeser of Ft. Madison, a former pastor. Interment was made at Fairfield. Mrs. CASSADY, whose maiden name was Lake WESTENHAVEN (sic - WESTENHAVER), was 57 years of age. She was born and raised in Jefferson county, moving to Brighton about 25 years ago. Besids her husband, she is survived by five children Mrs. Iva ARNOLD of Albia, Ray of Oskaloosa, Bennie, Dale and Bernice at home; also one sister, Mrs. A. E. MORTIMORE of Brighton, and two brothers, H. B. WESTENHAVEN (sic - WESTENHAVER) of Monette, Mo., and O. W. of Pleasant Plain. Her family were with her at her death, also her sister. Her brother and family arrived from Monette Sunday evening for the funeral services.
