Mrs. Earl CARTER, long-time resident of Fairfield, died early this morning at the Marquette Heights Nursing Home in Davenport (note: in Scott Co., IA). Her home in Fairfield was at 104 South C.
The body is at the Raymond Funeral Home where last rites are pending. Friends may call the funeral home Sunday for information about services.
Survivors include one son, Robert CARTER, Davenport.

Last rites were held at 1 p.m. today for Mrs. Earl CARTER, 79, long-time resident of Fairfield who died early Saturday morning at Marquette Heights Nursing Home in Davenport.
The services today were held at the Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. Ned C. Gillum in charge. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery.
Hattie Cecelia CARTER, 79, had been a resident of the Nursing Home in Davenport since May, 1964, and had been seriously ill the past two or three weeks. Before going to Davenport she had lived most of her life in this community. The family home was at 104 South C.
Hattie Cecelia CARTER was born June 2, 1888 in Ottumwa, the daughter of Alonzo and Lora Belle NICKELS CONNELL. She was married to Earl CARTER on Jan. 9, 1911. He preceded his wife in death on Feb. 14, 1964. She was a member of the Christian Church.
Mrs. CARTER is survived by one son, Robert CARTER, 156 S. Rolff St., Davenport; one grandson and two great grandchildren.
Other survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Beulah BATES, Davenport; Mrs. Olive GALES, Moline, Ill.; and Mrs. Charles THORNTON, San Jose, Calif. She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

In The District Court Of The State Of Iowa In And For Jefferson County
In The Matter Of The Estate Of Hattie C. CARTER, Deceased.
To All Persons Interested In The Estate Of Hattie C. CARTER Deceased:
You are hereby notified that on the 18th day of December, 1967, the last will and testament of Hattie C. CARTER deceased bearing date of the 23rd day of February, 1957, was admitted to probate in the above named court and that Robert E. CARTER was appointed executor of said estate.
Notice is further given that any action to set aside said will must be brought in the district court of said county within one year from the date of the second publication of his notice, or thereafter be forever barred.
Notice is further given that all persons indebted to said estate are requested to make immediate payment to the undersigned, and creditors having claims against said estate shall file them with the clerk of the above named district court, as provided by law, duly authenticated, for allowance; and unless so filed within six months from the second publication of this notice (unless otherwise allowed or paid) such claim shall thereafter be forever barred.
