Front Page, Column 6W. L. CARSON DIES AFTER LONG ILLNESS
Death came at home of his daughter at 11:12 a.m. todayWilliam Lincoln CARSON, well known resident of both Fairfield and Birmingham communities, passed away today at 11:12 a.m. His death came at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Thomas ALLEN, 51 North D street after a lingering illness of several months.
Mr. CARSON was a retired farmer having followed that occupation most of his entire life. He lived in and near Birmingham before moving to Fairfield 24 years ago. He had lived at his own home at 300 South Main street until last July.
He is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Thomas ALLEN, Fairfield, one son, Glenn E. CARSON, stationed at Camp Barkeley, Texas, and two granddaughters, Ruth ALLEN, Fairfield, and Mrs. Louis J. COONS, Jeffersonville, Ind.
Corp. CARSON arrived in Fairfield at 8:00 a.m. this morning just a few hours before his father's death. He had been sent word of his father's serious illness but had not received it since he was on his way home on a 13 day furlough which he had been granted.
He is stationed with the army reconnaissance division at Camp Barkeley.
The body is at the Weston Behner funeral home pending funeral arrangements.

Front Page, Column 5CARSON Rites Will Be Held Sunday At Behner Funeral Home
Funeral services for William Lincoln CARSON, 82, will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the Behner funeral home in charge of Dr. W. R. Yingling. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
Mr. CARSON passed away yesterday at 11:12 a.m. at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Thomas ALLEN 51 North D street, after a long illness.

CARSON a former resident of near Birmingham, but has been a resident of Fairfield the past 25 years, passed away Thursday at the home of his daughter Mrs. Thomas ALLEN, where he has made his home for several months. His farm home was just south of Birmingham, where he and his wife, daughter Laura and son Glen lived for a number of years prior to their move to Fairfield.

M. has been set for proof and final hearing of same.
