Eliza BIDDLE was born in Carmichaels, Green Co., Pa. Jan. 29, 1824 and was married there to A. E. CARSON June 28, 1853. Mrs. CARSON came with her husband to Livingston, Appanoose Co., Iowa in 1857 and after a residence there of nearly 40 years, has since resided in this city with her daughter, Mrs. R. B. LOUDEN. She passed from this life, Friday, Oct. 22, 1909.
Mrs. CARSON was beloved by large numbers of friends for her beautiful character, strong yet sweet and gentle. In the vicissitudes attendant upon pioneer life, her courage never wavered and watever the trials and discouragements she was called upon to bear during the development of a new country, her Christian womanhood bravely stood the test. Her entire life was a beautiful example of a highly developed spiritual nature and her falling asleep here was only a glad awakening to even a happier life than she could enjoy with those who loved her here. The sympathy of many friends is extended to the children who survive her, and who will miss her so sadly. They are:
Mrs. M. H. LOTT of Twin bridges, Mont., Egbert W. CARSON of Unionville, Mo., Mrs. N. B. HAYNES of Emporia, Kan., Mrs. R. B. LOUDEN of this city, and Mrs. G. E. DUNN of Couer 'd Alene (sic), Ida., three others having passed away.
Funeral services were held at the R. B. LOUDEN home on Monday, October 25th, conducted by Dr. W. E. Parsons and the interment was in Evergreen cemetary (sic).
