Front Page, Column 3F. O. CARLSON DIES SUDDENLY ON SUNDAY
Services Tuesday afternoon for former native of SwedenFrank Oscar CARLSON, 77, native of Sweden, passed away Sunday morning about 6:25 o'clock, at the Jefferson county hospital, following an emergency operation. He had entered the hospital on Saturday.
Funeral services will be held from the Weston Behner Funeral Home on Tuesday, at 2 p.m., in charge of Rev. Edward A. Piper. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
Mr. CARLSON was born January 25, 1863, in HarJa, Sweden. He was united in marriage with Selma A. SWANSON on January 21, 1891. Mr. CARLSON came to the United States in April of 1885, and had made his home in and near Ottumwa until about three months ago. At that time he moved to Fairfield, making his home at 1001 East Jefferson St. He was a retired farmer, and a member of the First Lutheran church in Ottumwa.
Surviving are hsi wife, Selma A. CARLSON; one daughter, Mrs. Albert PETERSON of Fairfield; and one son, Richard W. CARLSON of Davenport; one sister, Rosena NERO, living in Sweden; and two grandchildren, Maxine and Wilbert PETERSON of Fairfield.

Out of town relatives attending the funeral services for Frank Oscar CARLSON were Mr. and Mrs. Richard CARLSON of Davenport and the following from Ottumwa: Mrs. Robert SWANSON and daughters Violet and Mary, Mr. and Mrs. Joe SHORT, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur SWANSON and Mr. and Mrs. Albert SWANSON.
Many old friends and acquaintances of Mr. and Mrs. F. O. CARLSON from Ottumwa also attended the funeral. They included: Mrs. C. A. Anderson, Mrs. Albert Gustaveson, Mrs. Charles Falk, Mrs. Anna Nelson, Rev. Lundeen, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Bruckman, Mrs. McCartney, Mr. and Mrs. Phil Blomme and son Bernard, Mrs. Ralph Williams, Mr. James Kennedy, Will Fogleman, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Shank, Mrs. Irvin Stephenson, Mr. J. A. Anderson, and daughter Margaret and son Floyd, Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Anderson, Mrs. Clarence Anderson, Mrs. Elmer Anderson, Joe Engle and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Waller.
