Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church for John W Hidy, 85, who died suddenly Tuesday in his residence Private inurnment will be in Santa Maria Cemetery,
Mr. Hidy was born in Fairfield, Iowa and had been a resident of Santa Maria since 1970. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from University of Colorado. He was a member of the Royal Arch Masons of California No, 26, the First United Methodist Church, and Santa Maria Camera Club.
Survivors include his son, Dr. George M Hidy and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret H Hidy, on Nov. 2, 1988
